Award winning wine! Shorty’s is a signature Mount Palomar Winery premium blend created to be paired with food as well a smooth easy to drink wine worthy to be served at our Annata Bistro.  The deep red color is true to the depth and character of the wine. Our Bistro Red has rich earthy scents of allspice, anise carnations and blueberry.  The wine is full and round with tastes of plum, mandarin orange, dark chocolate and pipe tobacco.  This is a non vintage blend that is both ready to enjoy or age for two to three years.  Food pairings are a no brainer as Shorty’s is great with poultry dishes and cream sauces as well red meats, earthy mushrooms, robust red sauces, BBQ and spicy Asian and Latin cuisine.

Shorty's Bistro Red was awarded a silver medal by the Los Angeles International Wine Competition.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Intended as an everyday red table wine, it has aromas of raspberries, pencil shavings and spearmint with moderate tannins and a long, smooth finish.
Winemaker Notes
The wines spent on average 20 months in a mixture of French, American and Hungarian oak barrels. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are considered Bordeaux varieties. Sangiovese is from the Tuscany region of Italy. Cinsaut is a Rhone variety. Rubired is a hybrid variety, being a genetic cross between Alicante Ganzin and Tinta Cao.
Other Notes
Although it is labeled non-vintage blend, most of the wines in this version are from the 2009 and 2010 vintage.
