2013 Tannat

Tannat is a fun, up and coming varietal in Temecula Valley, nipping at the heels of more famous grapes like Malbec and Carmenere. Tannat originates from the south of France (or the north of Spain...depending on who you ask!) near the Pyrenees mountain Range. Due to it's thick skin and higher than average seed count, this wine is supremely rich in antioxidants! When it is young, wines made from Tannat can be very astringent, high in both acidity and tannin and will absolutely stain your palette with its rich violet hues. This single varietal wine can handle extended barrel and bottle aging and our 2013 bottling of Tannat offers our guests precisely that! If you have never tried Tannat before, we urge you to enjoy a glass with us at Mount Palomar and toast to your health! à votre santé!
